Songwriting Workshop

About the Workshop: River Music's Songwritring Workshop is designed to immerse participants in the worship songwriting community. It will provide writers and the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and hone their craft through both mentorship and collaboration. Here you'll be taught the basics of songs forms, melodic phrasing and a composition. In addition, all 30 participants will be able to participate in writing 1-2 songs for River Music's upcoming New England Zion Worshiper's Conference for the Saturday night live recording. They will also be added as official songwriters of the song(s) and part of the demo creation to be used for the official production of the song(s). There is a $20 fee to participate and attendees must be present in the entire session. 

About the Instructor: Katherine Nieves carries a bachelor's degree in Professional Music along with 2 concentrates in Songwriting and Music Business. She has been songwriting since she was 11 years old but has been writing professionally for 10+ years. She is a Professional Christian Recording artist focused in praise and worship but she has a diverse background of genres. She and her husband, Jesus Nieves,  are worship pastors at their home church, Crossover Church and they are also the co-founder of River Music Ministries. 

Katherine carries a prophetic sound and has a passion to serve God and desires to show the earth Jesus in all she does whether it's leading worship, prophesying, teaching or preaching. She has ministered in small and large settings locally, within the nation of the US and internationally. Her professional experience also includes singing at Awaken The Dawn Wahsington DC, Uprising Canada at Catch the Fire, Uprising Bolivia, Uprising New England, Bold Believers and many more. She has also sang for Daniel Johnson (founder of New Breed), Freddy Rodriguez, Ricardo Sanchez, Demetria Stallings, Jafet Lora  and many more. She has also helped arrange music along with her husband for Egleyda Belliard, Jafet Lora,  Fernando Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez and many more. 

Katherine longs to also serve and support the worshipers of her local community to help them strive by providing the resources she never had when she grew up. Her heart longs to see the glory of the Lord invade the earth and for her home region, New England, to be shaken up with revival.
